Greetings fellow internet surfers, welcome to Vidak’s Corner!
So what exactly is this site about? Well, It’s a bit hard to explain, perhaps it will make more sense If we go way back in time and I tell you about myself.
I was born and raised in Montenegro, a small county in Europe, which once was one of the states that formed the Socialist Federative Republic of Yugoslavia.
I have been interested in all things media from a very young age, yes I know it sounds cheesy, but it’s the truth. I used to run around the house with an old Philips tape recorder, pretending that I was interviewing people for a show. As the years went by my interest in media grew and I eventually landed a job at one of the local radio stations in my hometown, hosting a show (there is more to this part of the story, but for the sake of not boring you I will reserve the details to tell at some point in the future). After the show ended I briefly ran an internet radio station and from there went to work for another local radio station, hosting yet another show. I did this for about three years, before making the decision to move the United States and pursue a college degree in the art of broadcasting in 2016.
After being off the air for what is now three years, looking back, I realized there are two specific reasons why I liked hosting the shows so much, The first is the fact that being on air gave me a time and space to express myself and share my taught and Ideas to anyone who would listen and entertain them along the way. The second reason is that the shows each had one component which I felt specifically comfortable with and good at and that is interwoven.
Well, simply put miss both of those aspects of working in media and that is where “Vidak’s Corner” comes into the picture.
The site, along with the same-named podcast allows me to once again fully exercise and experience both aspects of the business I mentioned above. The podcast allows me to once again talk to and share stories of people that for whatever reason piqued my interest with an audience, while the written aspect of this site allows me to express and write down my thoughts on any given topic in the form of a blog.
I do my best to provide content everyone can enjoy and I hope you will like browsing through this little set of ones and zeros as much as I like working on it.
